Service Description

Creative textiles after school club for St Andrew's C of E Primary School pupils in years 5 & 6, an opportunity for your child to appreciate the benefits of slow crafting and develop new skills that provide digital-free time that is good for mental health. All materials and tuition is provided. This term we are creating our shaggy stool, our most anticipated theme of the year. This does take a lot of dedication and often some extra time at home (there will be a charge for any unreturned tools). The long term project gives an appreciation of both how long items take to make and encourages skills of patience and perseverance, an antidote to fast and quick expectations in society today. The end product can be something to be really proud of and the children are taught that the end result is dependent on the dedication they put in. It is important to understand the club activity approach as some children expect new activities each week and this may not be the club for them. If the stool cover is not completed by the end of term they will need to purchase a tool and obtain their own yarn to complete in their own time. If pupils are consistently disruptive and struggling to focus on the task at hand then the parent will be informed to discuss a way forward. Here's some feedback from previous club members: ' My happy place :)' 'It's the best club I have ever been to!' ' I always look forward to it in the day' ' It's AMAZING!!!! The club is so much FUN!!!' Held on a Tuesday 3.15-4.20 - St Andrew's C of E Primary School - Lower School Library Pick up from the front entrance promptly at 4.20pm If you have any queries please send them to hello@mycrafttribe.com
